PennDOT was one of several agencies that coordinated efforts to revitalize the Bedford Springs Resort and its grounds.  The Business US 220 alignment was changed from passing through the grounds to bypassing the resort entirely to the west on a new alignment which involved a massive rock cut.  The project began in 2006 and was finished in Summer 2007 at a cost of $11,523,266.
