Official Road Map"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HALLELUJAH!\u00a0 It has been like pulling teeth trying to get a copy of the 2020 official road map for over a year now.\u00a0 My DMV office usually has them in their brochure display.\u00a0 However, they only had 2018 and 2019 copies until getting rid of the display completely.\u00a0 I nearly got one back in June on a trip to Washington County, but encountered a traffic jam approaching the western <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pahighways.com\/interstates\/I70.html\">I-70<\/a>\/<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pahighways.com\/interstates\/I79.html\">I-79<\/a> split.\u00a0 I had an appointment to get to in Monroeville later in the day and didn&#8217;t want to lose any time; therefore, my visit to the welcome center at the West Virginia state line ended before it began.\u00a0 Out of two that are within driving distance, that is the closest one to where I live.<\/p>\r\n<p>TWICE I ordered via mail from the PennDOT Sales Office, and TWICE received copies of the 2019 version.\u00a0 The last time around I even wrote &#8220;2020 editions preferred&#8221; on the order, but alas, my plea was for not.\u00a0 I felt hesitation calling due to the sales office having not been staffed during the COVID-19 pandemic.\u00a0 This past Monday I thought I would take a shot, and fortunately spoke to a very helpful lady.\u00a0 So today, nine months and change into 2021, I have finally received a copy of the 2020 map.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\r\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pahighways.com\/images\/blog\/newcorrectpenndoturl.jpg\" alt=\"Correct web address for PennDOT\" width=\"700\" height=\"368\" \/><\/figure>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n<p>Unlike last year, there are no changes of note between this map and 2019&#8217;s in terms of the road system.\u00a0 There is one update on the cover.\u00a0 From 2017 to 2019, the URL for the Department of Transportation was printed as &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.penndot.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PENNDOT.GOV<\/a>&#8221; in the upper-right corner of the cover.\u00a0 For some reason, on the cover of the 2019 edition, it erroneously changed to a &#8220;.com.&#8221;\u00a0 It only recently moved from www.dot.state.pa.us to that address.\u00a0 The correct URL has returned to this year&#8217;s edition.<\/p>\r\n<!-- \/wp:post-content -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:image {\"align\":\"center\",\"sizeSlug\":\"large\"} -->\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\r\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pahighways.com\/images\/mapcovers\/2020.jpg\" alt=\"Cover of the 2020 official state road map\" width=\"95\" height=\"214\" \/><\/figure>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<!-- \/wp:image -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n<p>The map has the same dimensions as the previous year&#8217;s, and features the same amenities, such as the tourism slogan and &#8220;2020&#8221; in a keystone.\u00a0 However, this year&#8217;s cover picture is of the Blue Rocks boulder field in Berks County.\u00a0 You can view the 2020 official road map on PennDOT&#8217;s site.<\/p>\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Updates made to the 2020
