Official Road Map"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In preparation for the SWPA25 Road Enthusiast Meet this Saturday, I drove out to the welcome center on Interstate 70 at the West Virginia state line.\u00a0 The reason was to obtain road maps for the attendees.\u00a0 Giving the latest official state map to attendees of my meets is something I have done for over 20 years.\u00a0 The last time I drove to this welcome center, I shocked the kid working the counter when I asked for 25 road maps.\u00a0 However, this time, I explained to the employees what I needed.\u00a0 They gladly gave me two &#8220;blocks&#8221; of the 2024 official road map!<\/p>\r\n<p>I knew a new edition came out since the northeast quadrant of the state map on PennDOT&#8217;s website had a copyright of 2024.\u00a0 In the past few years, it has been nearly impossible to obtain a new map.\u00a0 The PennDOT Sales Office wants to clear out the previous year&#8217;s stock before sending out the new stock.\u00a0 Fortunately, the welcome center had 2024s, so my guests will receive a current one.\u00a0 There is just one change on it since the 2023 edition.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><strong><u>Pittsburgh Inset<\/u><\/strong><br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pahighways.com\/toll\/PATurnpike576.html\">PA Turnpike 576<\/a> now indicated as complete between US 22 and Interstate 79.\u00a0 The full state map has shown it as such since the 2022 edition.\u00a0 One problem: the new section erroneously &#8220;upgrades&#8221; it to an Interstate. \u00a0 The route designation is correct on the Findlay Connector and full state map.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\r\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pahighways.com\/images\/blog\/i576completed.jpg\" alt=\"The Southern Beltway shown as completed in the Pittsburgh inset but marked as Interstate 576\" width=\"700\" height=\"368\" \/><\/figure>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n<p>The Southern Beltway is indicated as complete; however, the portion of the Mon-Fayette Expressway currently under construction from the end at PA 51 to near Dravosburg is not shown as such.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The map has the same dimensions as the previous year&#8217;s.\u00a0 However, the cover of the 2024 official road map features a picture of a hang glider flying over a valley.\u00a0 You may view the 2024 official road map on PennDOT&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/gis.penndot.pa.gov\/BPR_PDF_FILES\/MAPS\/Statewide\/otm\/2023_OTM_FB.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"site (opens in a new tab)\">site<\/a> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pahighways.com\/images\/pdf.png\" alt=\"PDF icon\" \/>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<div
