Since the early 1970s, Interstate 376 has been a fifteen mile-long route connecting downtown Pittsburgh with Monroeville and the Pennsylvania Turnpike. However, it is just one section of the Penn-Lincoln Parkway which continues west and was known as I-279 and US 22/US 30 past the I-79 interchange. In Robinson, the designation changed again to PA 60 which continued north on the Airport Parkway, Southern Expressway, and Beaver Valley Expressway. Another less noticeable change takes place once on the James E. Ross Highway to that of PA Turnpike 60. With this myriad of designations, and local officials along the corridor wanting a unified designation, the extension of Interstate 376 was granted under the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users as Corridor 79. The change officially took place on November 6, 2009 and the new corridor is indicated as: Signs announcing the change to I-376 have been placed at certain intervals along US 22/US 30 and PA 60 which look like this: FUTURE CORRIDOR FUTURECORRIDOR 376 376 Toll Roads Toll Roads Interstates Interstates Copyright  2010 Jeffrey J.
